General Manager - Travel Plaza
Primary Accountabilities:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of our new 24-hour Travel Plaza station. This 12,000 square-foot fueling facility will include a full-service convenience store, two quick-service dining options, EV charging capabilities, shower and laundry facilities with a proximity to a major tribal tourism hub with gaming, concerts, hotel, resort and a golf course. Major Duties:
· Oversee the daily operations of the travel plaza, including retail, food service, enterprise fuel operations, and customer service areas.
· Lead and motivate staff to deliver high-quality service and maintain a positive work environment.
· Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
· Manage inventory, procurement, and vendor relationships to optimize profitability.
· Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards.
· Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, sales analysis, and cost control.
· Address customer concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
· Coordinate maintenance and cleanliness of the facility to uphold brand standards.
· Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
· Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
· 7+ years of proven experience in retail, hospitality, or service management, preferably in a 24-hour or high-traffic environment.
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal abilities are a must.
· Experience working within a Tribal organization and community setting is highly preferred.
· Ability to handle multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
· Knowledge of safety regulations, inventory management, and financial analysis.
· Flexibility to work various shifts as needed for coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays on occasion.
Required Qualifications – Cont.
· High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business administration, management, or related field is preferred.
· Must project a friendly, courteous, patient and professional image at all times, even under adverse conditions.
· Proficiency in MS Office and various point-of-sale systems.
Physical Demands:
· Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.
· Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
· Ability to read computer screens, email and talk on the phone.
· Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
· Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
