 Take your Emergency Medicine expertise on the road—join us as a Contract Locum Tenens Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner (ER NP) at the Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility in Belcourt, North Dakota. This temporary contract opportunity allows you to provide crucial, acute care services in our 24/7 Emergency Department, supporting patients of all ages. You’ll serve a culturally rich Native American community while working with a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality care without a long-term permanent commitment.

Position Highlights:
- 24/7 Emergency Department Coverage: Provide urgent and emergent care for all ages.
- Block Scheduling: Work 12-hour shifts with flexible scheduling patterns.
- Long-term contract up to 1 year, with potential for extension.

- Work authorized under any state’s active, unrestricted U.S. medical license.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely, comprehensive, urgent, and emergent medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, labs, ECGs), and rapidly formulate differential diagnoses.
- Initiate and manage evidence-based treatment plans for acute illnesses and injuries, performing procedures within the scope of practice (e.g., suturing, splinting, I&D).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, registered nurses, medics, and other specialists to ensure coordinated and efficient patient flow.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the EHR, consistent with IHS standards.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and care teams regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Respond promptly to trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and other critical emergencies.
 Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Nursing (MSN/DNP) with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current certification as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) or extensive, recent experience in a high-acuity Emergency Department.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in any U.S. state or territory.
- Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required.
- Ability to provide culturally competent care to Native American communities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams under pressure.
Additional Duties:
- Attend post-award or periodic progress meetings with government representatives as required
- Maintain quality control and compliance with contract requirements, including safeguarding government property and maintaining appropriate security clearances
- Ensure continuity of care and timely communication with the Clinical Director or designee
- Other duties as directed by your supervisor

Requirements
- 2 years of experience as an Emergency Room or Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner - Required
- Must be certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
- Emergency Medicine - Required
- Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Must be Board Eligible or Certified
- Familiar with Computer EMR systems
- DEA
- Must have current BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS
- Certification of Education - copy of diploma or transcripts
- Must be a U.S. citizen living primarily in the United States
