We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Billing & Office Support Specialist to join our Family Health Clinic on a long-term contract. In this vital role, you will help keep our clinic running smoothly by handling patient billing, insurance claims, and payment processing, while also providing light clinical and administrative support to our healthcare team.
This is a full-time, onsite role with excellent pay, paid federal holidays, and health insurance options. If you have experience in medical billing, medical office administration, or as a medical assistant — and you thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment — we’d love to hear from you!
Position Highlights
- Long-term federal contract (up to 1 year, with extension potential)
- Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (8-hour day shifts)

Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be current)
- Must be a US citizen
- Medical billing experience (certification preferred)
- Medical office or medical assistant experience preferred
- Familiarity with Indian Health Service (IHS) systems a plus
- Must be able to work onsite in Fort Duchesne, UT
Key Responsibilities
- Process patient invoices and submit insurance claims
- Track, follow up, and resolve unpaid claims and denials
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Maintain accurate billing and medical records
- Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies to resolve billing issues
- Support the clinic team by assisting with basic medical assistant duties and procedures under provider supervision

Requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- 2 Years of Experience in a medical office environment
- 1-2 years of Medical Billing & coding experience needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certified/licensed Medical Assistant Certificate Preferred
- Degree or diploma programs in medical billing and coding preferred
- Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) will be required
- Certifications and licenses must be active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent computer and organizational skills required
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be willing to submit to a federal background check
