Description
The Senior Equipment Planner leads the planning and implementation of equipment procurement and installation for healthcare facility projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring clinical functionality, cost control, and alignment with architectural and operational goals. The Senior Equipment Planner also mentors junior planners and coordinates closely with internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure the success of each project.
We are seeking a great team member to work a hybrid schedule in the Denver, CO area.
Requirements
Major Duties:
· Lead medical equipment planning for complex healthcare projects across all phases.
· Interpret architectural and clinical programming documents to inform equipment needs.
· Conduct field assessments of existing equipment and develop detailed inventories.
· Develop project-specific FF&E lists using planning software, PRCLs, or Excel.
· Coordinate specification, budgeting, and procurement efforts with internal and external stakeholders.
· Review and interpret technical submittals, cut sheets, and manufacturer specifications.
· Prepare planning documents and reports to support client deliverables and government submissions.
· Oversee equipment layout coordination with architects, MEP engineers, and user groups.
· Participate in regular design and construction meetings, track action items and milestones.
· Lead QA/QC review of equipment plans, installation drawings, and punch lists.
· Support vendor management including solicitation, pricing, and performance tracking.
· Travel for site visits, installation oversight, and user meetings as required.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in healthcare design, Engineering, Business, or related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment planning for healthcare facilities.
· Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, and medical planning software preferred.
· Experience with federal government contracting or military medical projects is highly desirable.
· Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
· Skilled in building relationships with clinical users, vendors, and project teams.
· Demonstrated leadership ability and mentoring experience.
Physical Demands:
· Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
· Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
· Ability to walk job sites and conduct physical inventory reviews.
· Ability to travel to project locations.
Work Environment:
· Professional, deadline-driven environment with collaborative team dynamics.
Field visits and construction site exposure as required
